The BVIs are known as the sailing capital of the world for many very good reasons... Warm sheltered waters... every island within easy sailing distance of the next... easy access to great bars and restaurants right at the waterside... and many more. Here are a sample of some of the great locations you may visit in your time aboard Jeannius...
Norman Island
The Bight on Norman Island (http://www.b-v-i.com/mappage.htm) is home to the famous Willy T floating bar and restaurant. If you are looking for a lively time this is the place to be. For a quieter time Pirates in the opposite corner of The Bight has a dinghy dock and pleasant little beach. At the entrance to The Bight is The Caves, a great snorkel spot. Nearby is an excellent dive and snorkel site known as The Indians.
Peter Island
Home to the luxurious Peter Island Resort (http://www.b-v-i.com/PeterIsland/default.htm) and also to some secluded anchorages. Little Harbour is a very quiet anchorage with absolutely no sign of habitation ashore perfect for a peaceful night. Great Harbour has the Ocean’s Seven Restaurant and Bar. Deadman’s Bay the beachside restaurant and bar for the resort. There is excellent snorkelling in several locations.
Salt Island
Site of the wreck of the RMS Rhone. A ship that sank during a hurricane in 1867 (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Rhone for the story) and is now one of the great dive sites of the Caribbean
Cooper Island
Picture perfect Manchioneel Bay (http://www.b-v-i.com/salt.htm) is everyone’s idea of a tropical paradise with perfect sand, palm trees and a great restaurant at the Cooper Island Beach Club. Good snorkelling at Cistern Point and easy access to other dive sites including The Rhone.
Virgin Gorda
Anegada
Totally different in nature from the rest of the British Virgin Islands, Anegada (http://www.b-v-i.com/Anegada/default.htm) is a coral island where as all the rest are volcanic. There are several hotels and restaurants in the Setting Point area. The island is surrounded by incredible reefs offering many excellent dive sites
Jost Van Dyke
Home to two of the most famous bars in the Caribbean, Foxy’s in Great Harbour and The Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay, Jost Van Dyke (http://www.b-v-i.com/JostVanDyke/default.htm) is inhabited by less than 300 people. There is much to see and do ashore so it is well worth allocating a couple of days for visits to this island.
Tortola
The main island of the BVIs, Tortola has on its north shore the lovely Cane Garden Bay (http://www.b-v-i.com/cane.htm). This is the place to go for night life with many beach-front bars and restaurants having live music or DJs.
